Print failure after a couple of minutes

I have bought the assembled version of the printer beginning of 2025. For a couple of months, the printer worked perfectly for me before it suddenly started to cause issues, and all printing attempts since August 2025 failed.

I have contacted the Prusa support, and I spent hours diagnosing the problem with them. They have sent me a new extruder motor since they assumed the motor was bad. That didn't solve the problem at all. The prints still failed.

The last session with the Prusa support a couple of weeks ago took 3 hours with various attempts to diagnose the issue without success. Cold pulls, sliced models from the support team, checking the sensors, updating the firmware left me still with a non-functioning printer. Some nice people on Reddit pointed out that it could be heat creep since the temperature for the heat break went up to ~48C. I was able to inject some GCODE to set the heat break temperature to 30C, which makes the fan spin like crazy. But that didn't help. I've measured the heat break thermistor, and it looked normal at 20C room temperature.

I still notice that the extruder starts making a clicking sound after some minutes of printing. The heat break temperature was ~35C when this started. The chamber temperature was ~28C. I was printing with PETG all the time since somebody told me that it won't meld too early and clog the nozzle or make extrusion more difficult.

I did a factory reset and even installed the original firmware to rule out any software-related issues.

Right now, I have no idea what I can do myself to resolve that issue.
Did anyone here have/had similar issues with their printer? How did you resolve it?

I'm happy for any tip on what else to check.

Here are the last two print attempts that I had to stop after a couple of minutes.

Don't use proprietary image formats many; in this case including me, can't see them.

The common reasons for "It used to work but now it doesn't" problems are:

Lack of regular maintenance.

Dirty print-sheets.

Damp filament(s).

You will find many threads here about all these topics.

Heat creep with PETG is rare unless you are using a 0.2mm nozzle. Can you use "Add Media" and attached the photos that way? Also, save a project that you are having issue with as a .3mf, then zip it and attach to a post.

Hey, sorry regarding the image format 😐

I do my best to keep the printer in a clean state. The first layer is not the problem. The plate is cleaned on a regular basis and the print sticks pretty well to the plate.

How are you drying your filament - it looks damp?

To reduce the breakaway on concave perimeters lower the print speed and perhaps increase the nozzle temperature by 5°.

The clicking *might* indicate a wrongly set idler pressure but make sure the filament is dry first.
