Missing CoreXY strut, should I proceed without it?
Hi everyone, so I am in the middle of assembling my CoreOne, but now I am stuck (for the second time) due to a missing part in my shipment. This time it is the CoreXY strut which you attach the long LED too. I am in line to chat with support to get the missing part shipped, but I wanted to ask here from people who have spent more time with the unit if they think I can finish my build now (instead of waiting another week for the part to arrive) and then fit this in later once it arrives?
RE: Missing CoreXY strut, should I proceed without it?
Are you really sure it's missing? As they write in the assembly instructions for preparing the parts, step 5.63: "The part is inserted in a foam cutout and may not be immediately visible at first glance." I don't recall where exactly it was hiding, but I do recall that I also had an "oh $#!+" moment...
RE: Missing CoreXY strut, should I proceed without it?
Yep, the packaging is a bit tricky for some parts. I too had to search some parts and "dig them out".

OP is not responding anymore, probably eating gummy bears.
RE: Missing CoreXY strut, should I proceed without it?
Give them some time. Not only may they be busy building the printer or chatting with support, but I believe with less than 5 posts they also have to wait for a moderator to release any new posts.
RE: Missing CoreXY strut, should I proceed without it?
Hi, sorry for slow follow-up, my wife demanded I help with other tasks in the house since I couldn't move forward with printer anyway 😀
I did search through all the foam bits after seeing that note, I even tried bending in them all gently to figure out if there was a piece of metal inside. I do suspect that whoever packaged my 1/3 metal parts box was in a bit of hurry because also some brackets where missing from the box. Prusa is sending me the missing piece though now and support did say they thought I could proceed with assembly as long as I was prepared to fiddle a bit to get this led thing sorted later.
RE:
You’re not alone. I was missing linear holder left, linear holder right, and the corexy strut. Reading assembly comments, and looking at various socials, these parts appear to be commonly missing. The parts that are packaged into the foam. They need to address this wherever it is being packaged.
I asked support and they advised not to proceed because the wiring could be difficult later? It looks like installing this later wouldn’t be too difficult but this is my first core one build so I will listen to them. They advised I could complete the nextruder assembly while I wait.
If you do manage to finish the build and install it later please report back for the rest of us 🙂
RE: Missing CoreXY strut, should I proceed without it?
@gauge, you were replying to a post from half a year ago. Did you encounter the missing parts in a kut that was purchased just recently, and directly from Prusa? It would be disappointing if they still have not fixed this process issue.
RE: Missing CoreXY strut, should I proceed without it?
Yes, I ordered one due to the Black Friday shipping deal. My assumption is that someone stuffs these in at the end once everything is packed and it gets missed a lot due to timing or something. None of the other steps mention missing parts like these linear holders and strut, so I assume it is some kind of process issue. I checked and you can’t order the strut, so hopefully they send me one heh. I assume this part can’t be 3D printed because the LED strip gets really hot.

Are you talking about the cover for the LED strip? If so, the check inside the foam packing material. I had the same problem, it was extremely hard to find. It was inside a slot in one of the black foam pieces.
RE: Missing CoreXY strut, should I proceed without it?
I have checked many times. I had to take a picture of the slot for cs to consider sending me a new one.
RE: Missing CoreXY strut, should I proceed without it?
For those missing the strut, CS was correct that wiring would be an issue if you continue with the build. To get around this, I zip tied the led strip where the strut screws in and used foil tape to hold up the middle to prevent sag. This allowed me to wire up the LED strip while I wait for the strut to get here. I’ve been printing on mine for a few days now 🙂 The strut is set to arrive tomorrow. I hope this helps someone.
Shout out to support. Neither time I contacted them was it difficult to get replacements for the missing parts. You always get a person, no AI nonsense or hitting zero a bunch of times. Definitely one of the value adds people don’t talk about when they talk about pricing. Prusa support is excellent.
