Failing first prints

I got my assembled core one about a week ago and I’ve been struggling with print quality. The base g code sent had issues where is would basically leave holes in the layers and when I tried a torture toaster it failed. After a while of that I uploaded a different benchy and tried adjusting settings. I’ve also tried tensioning the belts but that hasn’t fixed it. There are no tangles in the filament as it happens at the same point on the benchy no matter what settings I change. I’ve also tried putting the nozzle to 280 Celsius and purged filament from it. I’m not sure what to do now

A picture of the issue would help us diagnose your problem.

Which Benchy is this?  There are too many variants around for easy comparison these days, if it's the Bonkers Benchy of recent fame  then it's good, very good; if it's the old standard Benchy then, yes, there's some tweaking to do.

So, visit   https://www.3dbenchy.com/   and make sure you've sliced a standard Benchy with one of the Prusa presets.

There are a couple of possible causes - but Benchys are meant to be difficult test prints so you may be able to print some other simple, useful items while we are addressing this.

This is the standard benchy, these are using the standard high flow core one files, iirc one is the .15 layer height, the other is .2 layer height

This is the standard benchy,

Can you check?   The bow transition looks too sharp and the deck-box shape seems odd - if these are printer faults then something very strange is going on.

Your interlayer adhesion problem might be a temperature issue, a speed issue, a partial blockage, contaminated filament, excessive cooling/drafts - or if this is not the standard Benchy, part geometry ... or something else. With a well known file it's much easier to determine.

Please download the standard Benchy, slice with one of the Prusa presets, tell us which one, tell us which filament you are using and then photograph from all sides including the underside.  It's also easier for us to diagnose if you use a simple colour or grey filament, black and white tend to obscure detail.

RE: Failing first prints

Here is another benchy. The other ones were using Prusament Galaxy PLA, these were printed using Creality Hyper PLA. This would happen with the other ones but I stopped them a little bit after they got to that point

The first thing to try is a cold-pull, it's in your LCD menu.

The procedure is here: https://help.prusa3d.com/article/cold-pull-26702-mk4s-13702-mk4-28702-mk3-9s-21702-mk3-9-17702-xl_445071

- although the article predates the Core One it use exactly the same nextruder as the Mk4 and XL so the instructions are the same.

Hey, I actually can’t find a way to cold pull it. There is no setting for it to do the automatic cold pull and it won’t extrude at all without going to the set temperatures or letting me push it when it’s preheated to a certain temperature.

Oops! I should have checked the core one menu matched the others ... use the manual cold pull procedure on the same page.
