Close to losing my mind
don’t know if you can see the video too, but after finally completing the core one kit, the test print is printing in the corner, also it purges in that corner. I’m real close to refunding this machine with the hiccups and nuances of this machine. The y axis failing multiple times etc. please help
For all problems with a new built kit or a newly delivered prebuilt machine: first contact Prusa Support via chat. You may need your machine's serial number.
Cheerio,
RE: Close to losing my mind
Can’t help but feel these’re something fundamentally wrong with the core xy assembly to achieve this result. Check belt routing, pulley orientation etc.
Does it pass the x/y calibrations ?

RE: Close to losing my mind
- Somehow, yes it does
RE: Close to losing my mind
If you use manual controls does the print head move to the right spot?
Are you using a test print sliced for the core one?
RE: Close to losing my mind
will try this right now actually
RE: Close to losing my mind
thanks for the reply, they seem to be confused as well. think im about ready to return the core one. My frustrations has completely boiled over. unfortunately i think im going to buy a bambu lab since it supposedly just "works". the core one kit is my first ever 3D printer. although frustrating to build at times it was cool and satisfying. but for it to just not print, and maybe even have to take it apart so soon after building it pisses me off so bad. Last attempt to make it work will be tonight and the morning.
RE: Close to losing my mind
While the current state of your printer is confusing and frustrating, I am pretty confident that it is just a small, localized assembly issue.
Please check that (a) the X and Y motors are connected to the correct connectors on the xBuddy control board, and (b) the pulleys for X and Y motor are installed correctly. (They are installed in oppositve orientations, one with the toothed side closer to the motor, one further away. You can look into the openings in the motor support blocks and confirm that the belt engages with the toothed side.) Both are rather common glitches during assembly which multiple users have reported on here.
Fingers crossed that you will get your Core One into good working order!
RE: Close to losing my mind
After Autohome, you could also check the x,y,z values shown in the settings (manual move). x should be around 200 and Y around 0
My first thought also was : "sliced for another printer"???
RE: Close to losing my mind
What file did you try to print? Was it anything for the USB stick that comes with the printer or something else?

RE: Close to losing my mind
@all, please note the OP's follow-up post stating that manual controls "seem to be confused as well". If that is the case, I think we can rule out the printed file as the cause of the problem.
It's likely there is/was a mix up with some of the wiring. Support should be able to steer you through some checks, they know which build errors are most frequent.

RE: Close to losing my mind
chat lady is sending a new main power cord, as she think its either faulty or was over twist past the 'half turn". so we will see... will get here next week so i will see what is up as its still in my refund window. was trying to print the first keychain on the flashdrive
RE: Close to losing my mind

Umm -- you mean the 230V (or 115V) mains cord? Or the 24V from the power supply to the xBuddy controller? Or is it about the "main cable" to the Nextruder, with the heater power, temperature measurement etc.?
Neither of these are directly affecting the XY positioning, which I understood to be the main issue with your printer. So I am a bit surprised that this would be the suggested troubleshooting approach. But maybe there are more details which you discussed with Prusa support and did not include in your first post above.
Anyway, fingers crossed that you get this sorted!
