Arrived Damaged 🙁

Sadly, opened the box for my Core One and found cracked top plexiglass, bent exterior steel frame, the door is misaligned, and generally it's unusable and I wouldn't want to deal with perpetually slightly misaligned rods for the entire life of the thing.

Chatted with support and am awaiting an email on what to do next =\

Ouch -- that's a big disappointment when finally receiving the long-awaited printer. Sorry to read about that mishap!

Was the box externally undamaged? The packaging looks well-designed. So I wonder what creative way of tossing the box around the shipping company has found to cause this much internal damage without leaving major dents in the cardboard box as well.

The box was intact, but all the corners had definitely seen some impact (the internal cardboard seems to have helped it be resilient). Nevertheless, clearly it took a corner hit hard enough to deform one of the corners of the printer (so all three connecting steel sheets) and crack the plexiglass next to it.

with any luck they'll ship a replacement and have me ship this back asap.

I guess notably one of the plastic handles inserted in the side of the box was missing and the handle was a bit ripped so I'm guessing someone carried it by the handle and it gave way and I bet they dropped it in transit. I only got it with one handle :/

Did you get a complaint about that external damage on file with the shipping company when you received the package? -- Finger crossed that this gets resolved and that you receive a working Core One soon!

Rest of the box looked acceptable, nothing to claim at pickup with a sealed box.

Mine arrived with identical damage.  One plastic carry handle on the box was torn out, and the front left corner was bent enough to crack the top pane of acrylic. I’m in communication with support. The printer seems to print OK, although the door is misaligned enough that the magnets don’t hold and it shook itself open during the test print.

My Core One arrived last Friday with similar damage (frame bent, top broken, loose pieces inside, and half the pop rivets broken or missing).  Like the original poster, the box didn't show obvious damage.  Prusa support forwarded the information and photos to their packaging department to create a case number, and said I will be contacted in a couple days with further instructions.

Dang I guess I'll be filming my unboxing when mine arrives just to be safe. Hopefully they can get the shipping damages sorted out.

Its wild how brutal these boxes are being handled, are they to heavy or why does it seems so hard to get them through in one piece?

RE:

Probably drop damage. They are too big for a game of football...Sure, Prusa did drop tests, but I suspect the shipping companies have more heavy drops. Prusa should stick some G sensors on the printers

Update on my post from 16/02/2025:

Received the replacement printer last Friday (28/02/2025), and unboxed it over the weekend.  Everything is working perfectly.  It is important to point out that the packaging changed slightly for the new printer; the four fiber corner protectors inside the box are now larger and much stronger.  Good job, Prusa.  Thank you.

Mine also arrived with the box apparently intact but when I opened it, it didn't have the anti vibration feet, power cable, and—most importantly—no HARIBO. Plus the box plastered with rivets that had popped out.

But I guess I got lucky because the printer itself was unhurt!

I first thought Prusa had made an error packaging it so I contacted Support. They checked their tapes (apparently they're taping the packaging process) and didn't see anything wrong. Their guess is that Fedex dropped the box, stuff fell out, and they just taped it up again.

Of course, Prusa being Prusa they have shipped me the missing parts—and the Haribo!
