Anti-vibration feet prusa core one don't stick

I am working on the kit and tried to attach the anti-vibration feet with zero luck.

I cleaned the metal, pealed the feet and they did not even come close to sticking.

When I flipped the frame to the correct orientation caused all 4 feet to fall off.

This is an old kit that has been living in the box from the first shipment cycle if

that has any impact on what is going on.

Any good double sided tape that is recommended in the US of A?

RE:

On my early Core One kit, the feet also came off while I was still building it. But the adhesive actually staid on the printer frame -- it came loose from the rubber parts! Is that the case with yours as well?

I just replaced the adhesive it with some no-name double sided carpet tape I still had in the drawer.  This did not stick to the rubber either, until I sanded the rubber surface with fine-grit sandpaper (and then wiped it clean with alcohol again). No problems since; the feet are still in place, even after moving the printer a few times and doing some repairs on it.

Yeah, those feet are awful. The adhesive is useless. Just remove the old adhesive and clean the residue with IPA. Next any 3M double sided tape will work or you can glue them on with Gorilla Glue Clear Grip.

I threw those feet away awhile ago and use these instead: HULA v1.0 Anti Vibration feet  Alternatively these also work well if you want something simpler: Prusa core One feet v2

After perfectly preparing the surface on the core one, the tape will inevitably come off on the rubber side. Now have fun getting the tape off the printer 🙂

IMHO the stock feet are not bad, but there seems to be no (non-industrial) double-sided tape up to the job. Correct if wrong.

I attached with no-name white construction glue from the hardware shop, and it sticks even though I move the printer frequently.

While at it, give the same treatment to the door handle ...

The other printer feet replacements need TPU; but I have to wait until the Core One is finished first.

I did reach out to other "big name" 3d printer people they said - yep - those feet don't work very well.

As mentioned above, plain old carpet tape worked well for me. But only after I lightly sanded the surface of the rubber feet with fine-grit paper to give it some grip.

My first replacement feet where the one's with TPU. I just cut out some foam rubber and then later replaced it with TPU Air inserts. Alternatively there are feet you can make with squash balls.

Three out of the four fell off while I was building my Core 1. I just glued them on with GOOP, they never fell off after that. They still there.

I've used just basic 3M double sided tape to fix a few of mine, worked fine. For doing the build itself there's a lot of moving around of the base and I found placing the base on a cloth made it a lot easier to spin/move around as needed.

I was looking at building a lazy susan setup for the build process.  Less fuss for the build

I will attack the solution 4 possible ways.

I ordered 3M and Gorilla double sided tape along with super glue.

Options:

  • Use each of the types of double sided tape
  • print one / both of the optional feet in PLA on the MK IV and skip the TPU insert.
  • Super Glue
  • Skip the Core one for now and setup the Core One L...but that discussion will be for a differed forum

IDK, I think double sided tape would be enough.
