Another Y-Axis thread

Hey folks,

I finished assembling my Core One on the weekend. I noticed that the gantry has some play on the right side. It is not completely flush with the front. First, I tensioned the belt with the tuner from the App, I never reached 85Hz on both belts, I always had a a deviation of 6Hz. I contacted support and was told to use the tuner from the webpage. I did so, I still had some deviation and after this, my Y axis calibration failed.

Then, I was told to follow the steps described in Selftest failed. I have bent the right side a little bit to the front, but this did not fix the play either. I did it several times and I did the belt tuning several times. Now I have 100Hz on the upper belt and 90Hz on the lower belt.

My Y axis calibration has succeeded again and I am wondering how important it is to have the gantry completely flush as long as the calibration works. I just printed something and I am not sure whether this is the best I can expect (frankly, it is cheap PLA from 3D Prima).

I have also noticed this post https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/postid/757277/ , emphasizing the important of "leaving 4-5 teeth sticking out" on the belt fastener. I cannot guarantee that it is more than this 4-5 teeth on my fastener since the whole step was a pain in the ass. I would check again, but that does mean disassembling quite a few parts of the Nextruder. Is this worth it?

I am a little bit disappointed because I did not want to spend weeks of calibrating etc. to get proper results. Then I could have ordered a Bambu Lab Printer instead...

Does someone maybe has some useful advice?

Kind regards

Michael
