- RFID unit
RE: Wishlist for future enclosure features/add-ons
I would second someone’s suggestion from the announcement thread—sealed filament case—and suggest that it could be linked to the smartbox to keep track of % remaining via weight.
how about a power-cable solution for large farms?
RE: Wishlist for future enclosure features/add-ons
What is SmartBox?
Definitely would be interested in spool storage, but only if it kept it dry.
RE: Wishlist for future enclosure features/add-ons
A kit of plugs for what appears to be numerous open holes in the frame for mounting of options that many will not be using.
RE: Wishlist for future enclosure features/add-ons
They will let us know in detail soon, but roughly speaking Prusa’s SmartBox will be a programmable control unit/interface for all the electronic features and official add-one such as multi-colored LED strips, electronic door locks, particle sensors, fans, and maybe heaters.
RE: Wishlist for future enclosure features/add-ons
Any room to add a platform drawer slides to pull the printer out of the enclosure without having to completely removing it from the enclosure?

Those of you on the mailing list probably received a note announcing the official Original Prusa Enclosure.
https://blog.prusa3d.com/original-prusa-enclosure_67656/
It has a built-in temperature monitor (hmmm ... looks familiar, see below) 😉 and options such as LED lighting, fire-suppression (some items say EU only for this), fan with filter (no mention of it being temperature controlled), a lock to keep kids, burglars, and curious cats out, and various other things.
One thing I do like is the ability to run the power supply and/or control panel outside of the box.
I'm probably not in the market for this, since I added a similar 3d Upfitters enclosure about two years ago with my own temperature monitor/control, but had this been available then I probably would have gone with it.

+2 on spool enclosure.

- Remote monitoring for the SmartBox with an API to create plug-ins so that you can monitor it with Octoprint or Home Assistant.
- Haribo dispenser with access control to prevent over consumption.

How about a smoke detectors that will disrupt power when smoke is present?

And/Or over-temp sensor. I was told that in garages that they use over temp sensors to detect fires because the the dust and particles can mess with he smoke detector sensors.

also a great option

RE: Wishlist for future enclosure features/add-ons
I have ordered an enclosure. I would like to see a mounting brackets to connect a Repbox to the enclosure and feed filament to the MMU.
RE:
i have 2 mk3s with mmu2s and was thinking the same, would be nice if had a model of the enclosure to start designing parts.
i was thinking setting repbox on top with back overhanging and use bottom ports, just need some support for back of box
RE: Wishlist for future enclosure features/add-ons
@Kyle that is looking good. I will be interesting to see the filament paths into the enclosure
RE: Wishlist for future enclosure features/add-ons
Nice! I would love to see an option to include the RMU Mk3 from https://filamentbuffer.co.uk and the RepBox, if the RMU would fit.

The Temp/Humidity sensor on the Prusa looks like the $2 Aliexpress one. I’ve got 8 of those for my DryBoxes.. and I use Aqara’s temp/humidity sensor. ($22) (so often put both in a box.. the Aqara has the ability to notify me if the humidity goes above a certain value.. but I haven’t tested it yet) . What I’ve found is that that the cheap ones will tend to stay at one value and then take a large jump.. I find they stay at about 10 or 21% humidity.. seems weird.. Where my Aqara do seem to be more accurate.. (at least the numbers are all different in my 8 DryBoxes). So I think the Prusa humidity sensors would only be about +/- 10 (not 10%) in humidity readings. (In fact at humidity between 10-20%, the cheap sensor can be off by 100%, I estimate. I’d like to see something more accurate.. Now I don’t have a reference humidity sensor to verify.. But putting 2 of the cheap sensors in my house, I’ll have one read 55% and one 65% for relative humidity.. For us in humid environments, I don’t find those cheap ones near as accurate as I’d hoped.

RE: Wishlist for future enclosure features/add-ons
I think there is a real market for a 5-6 1Kg spool holder that has a small micro in it and a good humid sensor that would cause a heater and ball-bearing fan to only heat when necessary and keep humidity between 10-20%. I didn’t realize how much moisture will get into filament when I started this past-time only months ago. After I discovered the cause of my bad prints, I made about 8 DryBoxes, but changing desiccant can be tiresome. A little off topic of enclosure.. But a really high performance box that sips electricity could be a huge asset (and necessary) for those who what to use a small range of filaments for different prints and a nice accessory for an enclosure. I haven’t seen such a beast yet; maybe one exists.
