Prusa Mini Enclosure Wait Thread
Anyone here waiting for a prusa mini enclosure? Post your thoughts and expectations!
I'm hoping for:
- Prusa mini style pricing ($150 price)
- Bottom layer legs (Low-cost structure to stack the enclosures on top of, to move the bottom enclosure off the ground ($50?)
- White LEDs
- Mounting position (hole in the front) for the screen + cable extender
- Vibration isolation mounting
- Integrated Spool holder, to the right of the printer / integrated spool holder location for existing Prusa Mini spool holder
Most of this stuff doesn't rely on the "chip shortage" and could even be sourced and built in other countries (USA?) to reduce lead times.
What are your thoughts?
RE: Prusa Mini Enclosure Wait Thread
I'm curious as to the solution for moving the electronics out of the enclosure. There's not as much leeway as the mk3.
RE: Prusa Mini Enclosure Wait Thread
What do you mean?
The power supply is already remote, the only thing they move externally beyond the PSU on the Mk3 is the screen, which can be done just as easily with a simple cable extension.
For the USB port, it's also extremely easy to add a USB cable extension (My personal favorite upgrade is USB->USB-C for USB-C flash drives!)

Still haven't found the perfect and suitable solution for this. Not getting the proper results I need to Publish here.

I am with you on this. I would love to have a stackable enclosure that is similar to the MK4 enclosure.

I actually used Prusa Original Enclosure for my two Minis. I recently added filament glide connecting to Mini - everything worked perfectly.
I may buy a couple. I would prefer one that is a little smaller and still stackable.

Only one little negative - Mini can be slippery in the enclosure. I'm thinking of putting rubber mat on it.
If Prusa release an enclosure for Mini, I might buy two for my Minis.
RE:
I would think that the Prusa Enclosure is a bit too large and too expensive for the target audience. It would be great if Prusa offered a scaled-down version that's a better fit for the Mini - but I could imagine that this is not economically viable for Prusa.
RE: Prusa Mini Enclosure Wait Thread
Well, if you notice in the video on the Prusa Enclosure, at the very end, right before than say, Buy Now!, and stuff like that, it says, Original Prusa Mini, Size in the Works.
RE:
That info at the end of the video can take years to be available...
But the question is what will be its price to be affordable. This can be really a problem.
