About Me
Nazareth Ekmekjian is an architectural designer from Los Angeles, currently based in Cleveland, Ohio. Nazareth was most recently Lead of Design at Piaggio Fast Forward, where he oversaw the design and development of PFF’s first product, gita™—a following robot and cargo carrier. Nazareth played a key role in the evolution of gita™ from concept to product, including the series of prototypes along the way. In addition, he was responsible for establishing and managing PFF’s design workshop, which includes a multi-axis KUKA robotic arm, 3D print farm, and composites equipment.
Prior to PFF, Nazareth was at Machineous (2008 – 2010), where he worked on design projects that leveraged novel means of robotic fabrication. Select clients at Machineous include Zaha Hadid Architects, Greg Lynn FORM, and Aranda/Lasch. He then went on to manage the Robot House at SCI-Arc (2011 – 2013) where he supported design studios and seminars using the newly-constructed multi-robot lab. Nazareth received his BArch from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) in 2008 and his Master of Science in Architecture Studies from MIT in 2015.
