Wipe Tower Collapsing, on every print.

Hi !

My wipe tower is collapsing on every print. It starts by leaving blobs behind and at some point the tool head detaches it by crashing with the blobgs.

Part prints consistently with good quality, but tower consistently fails.

Happens with PLA and also with PETG. At first I thought that it was related to adherence, PETG prints allowed me to see better what is going on.

Is anybody experiencing this issue also?

Any ideas ?

Your second picture does show a purge tower lifting off the plate so you may have been at least partially right.

The blobs might be incompatible filaments not sticking together ... which filaments are they?

The slicer tends to put the tower in the same place every time - try moving it to a less used part of the print sheet or use the other side.  If this works a thorough remedial sheet clean might be enough.

Cheerio,

I found the problem.

what was very very confusing is that both tools produced fantastic prints when used independently, but in a multimaterial print tower would fail.

The problem was fixed by calibrating the tool Docking, and later the tool offset (with pin).

It was also very confusing that the tool would dock perfectly without any issues.

I believe the second tool would come to print at an erroneous Z, and initial calibration is done with the first tool only. So, tool offset is key. However, tool ofset calibration alone did not fix the issue, until I calibrated both the parking and the offset the issue did not go away.

A change of location of the printer triggered the issue.
