Turn off tool mapping? "tool change to tool disabled by tool mapping"
I use 'virtual' extruders (6 and 7 with my 5-tool XL) to force certain print paths using the same material and to flag different features of the models for processing with a post-processing script. Unfortunately the post-processing I was doing doesn't work on the XL due to the error "tool change to tool disabled by tool mapping".
I'd like either the ability to turn off tool-mapping and/or the checks that get run.
As an example. I use Prusa slicer to generate gcode for extruders 6 and 7 (which use virtual filaments with flags in the custom filament gcode). My post processing script parses the gcode for those flags, grabs some information from the tool paths, and then deletes that code, replacing it with code for extruder 4 (T3).
Now I can't actually get the XL to execute T3 moves due to the error.
Can anyone at Prusa recommend a way around this?
RE: Turn off tool mapping? "tool change to tool disabled by tool mapping"
I did insert another object printed with extruder 4, and that gets me past the initial mapping error but later on the moves that I generate for T3 are giving an orange screen of death error of "Invalid extruder"
RE: Turn off tool mapping? "tool change to tool disabled by tool mapping"
I'm thinking i may need more specific code to park and pick tools. (on the Hyrel machine I was using this was not needed).
P0 S1 L2 D0; park the tool
T2 S1 L0 D0; pick the tool
I'd probably have better luck with this if I understood what was happening in these lines, but I haven't been able to find any guidance on the L and D arguments https://forum.prusa3d.com/forum/original-prusa-xl-tool-changer-hardware-firmware-and-software-help/toolchange-gcode-identification/#post-682512
RE:
Did you have any luck solving this error? I'm experimenting with an unmapped high-temp filament for purging between PLA and PETG, but I'm getting the OSOD on the MK4 when the toolchange is attempted.
