PTFE Tube stuck in Extruder

Hello everyone,

I’ve been experiencing frequent filament jamming issues with one of the extruders. While attempting to resolve it again, I discovered that the PTFE tube is stuck and cannot be removed. I’m aware of the correct procedure — pushing down the black retaining ring while gently pulling out the tube — but this method isn’t working, even after multiple attempts.

Does anyone have suggestions for how to safely remove a stuck PTFE tube? Additionally, could this issue be the root cause of the recurring filament jams?

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,
Floh

I detached the metal fitting (where you can insert the tube). There you can just unscrew. It's broken and I just ordered replacement.

RE:

It's not uncommon for the fittings to grip the PTFE too well, making it hard to remove the PTFE tube.

Providing the PTFE was placed correctly in the fitting and pushed all the way in, it is unlikely this is the cause of your issues, unless some deformity of the tube has occurred, maybe due to deformed filament or tips etc.

Thanx, I think I have to clean the nozzle because the extrudate is not coming out straight downward as it should, but instead is extruding sideways. This could indicate a partially clogged nozzle. So I wanted to clean the nozzle but couldn't unplug the tube on that extruder.
