Nozzle seal rubber band wear off way too fast because TC parking plate is kind of a fail
I must say, the nozzle seal ruber band suffers from a failed construction of the TC parking plate;
Its ends are too sharp and wear the seal rubber band too hard. The hard edge cuts through the rubber band and destroys it prematurely.
The end of the TC parking plate should be bent round. So they wouldn't cut through the rubber band. The quality should be improved quickly. The pictures show the wear after only 3 months with 504 hours of printing.

Yes the sharp corners are a pretty silly oversight. My XL showed up with one of the bands torn partially out of the box due to the corners. I just used it this way, but it didn't take long for the band to rip fully.
To Prusa's credit, they did send me a pack of replacement bands once I told them about the issue.
If your bands are really wearing out or showing wear/tear quickly, I would double check that the spring steel pieces are adjusted correctly. The band should just make contact with the nozzle when the tool is parked. If you have it set too high, then the nozzle will basically collide with the rubber band each time the tool is parked.
Can't hurt to take a small file and round off the sharp corners of the steel pieces.

This looks like it would address the sharp edge issue. Haven't tried it yet, though.

I replaced my bands, too, and then adjusted the spring steel down. After adjustment, the bands seem to be lasting a lot longer.

They have a different type in their store now instead of a stretched band. Haven't tried them yet but will probably need to in a few more months.
