RE: nextruder make clicking sound

Check the Extruder and Filament path for debris or anything else. Maybe Just a partially clogged nozzle.

I know where I can find the temperature. I am printing something, but it hasn’t gone wrong yet.

I have already tried this: (Try a cold pullTry to tighten the idler).

I am printing with PLA (Try setting your mvs to 12-18 max. (my petg settings))

I am printing with the standard settings from PrusaSlicer. (If you Take a Look at your sliced Print at the Speed. Is there Something Like faster layers?)

To Show Heatbreak Temperatur

On your printer:

Settings/User Interface/Footer

There you can Show 5 different values during Print.

Try a cold pull
Try to tighten the idler

Try setting your mvs to 12-18 max. (my petg settings)

If you Take a Look at your sliced Print at the Speed. Is there Something Like faster layers?

I have cleaned it with compressed air, and I have changed the nozzle to a new one as well.

It hasn’t happened yet while printing. The temperature is 36 °C, and I will let you know what the temperature is when it does happen

Please read the heat sink temperature on the display during printing. I would like to know what temperature it shows when the noise occurs

I think the next step would be to find out what temperature the sensor measures.

Okay, according to your value, that's not very much for PLA to slip over the gear in the extruder. Above all, the sensor is located at the very bottom and the fan is above it. So the area between the sensor and the gear is between 35 and 30 degrees.

Mods for Core One: Core One HT 450 degrees, Comfortable display , Very fast print start and Reducing noises
Mods for Prusa XL: Very fast print start

The only thing I can think of is that the Nextruder or the motor might be damaged. I can’t really think of anything else that could be causing the problem.

RE:

Hello XL friends,

I have the same/similar problem with the clicking extruder. The clicking varies in intensity. While troubleshooting with Prusa support, I've disassembled the extruder eighteen times and investigated the problem using various approaches. The entire hotend was replaced to rule out a faulty temperature sensor and a defective or clogged nozzle. Then I was sent a gear set because one of the outer bearings wasn't working properly:

https://www.prusa3d.com/de/produkt/set-pg-assembly-pg-ring/

After that, following the service instructions, I replaced the pressure bearings:

https://www.prusa3d.com/de/produkt/bearing-693-2rs-u-type/
Unfortunately, I received ones without a groove. I tested them according to the instructions, but without success; the noise persisted.

Finally, I swapped the stepper motor from extruder two to extruder one, and the problem moved with it. I reported this to Prusa Support. Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything for a week.

The stepper motor moves by hand just like the one that's working; I tested it during the conversion when I had both motors side by side.

What's difficult is that as soon as the motor is unloaded, like when the cover is open, there's no filament in the extruder, or during gear calibration, for example, everything is silent.

The noise only occurs when filament is being fed during printing or purging.

I even tried using a transparent cover to see if it always occurred in the same gear position, but it didn't:

https://www.printables.com/model/839411-nextruder-cover-total-vision
Unfortunately, Prusa Support won't replace either the stepper motor or the extruder. Which I find strange for a 6-month-old, €3000 machine.

Regarding the bearings, are the ones with the groove available in the online shop? I can't find them.
