Looking for help with a Tool 2 failure
I was gifted a 2 tool XL that when it swaps to the second tool, it clicks when doing a wipe pass and triggers the filament jammed failure.
Tool 1 will print solo just fine. If I try printing from tool 2 solo, it will print about 20 layers or so before it triggers the jam sensor
If I turn off the sensor, it will under extrude and completely stop extruding.
I can load and purge the filament just fine. I've done a cold pull clean, nozzle needle clean and the nozzle doesn't show any problems.
It feels like the z offset for tool 2 is wrong. Perhaps what I need to do is some basic level of calibration? Does this problem look familair?
RE: Looking for help with a Tool 2 failure
Any chance tool 2 isn't heating up enough? I had a bad thermistor on one of my extruders and had similar issue. Try turning up the heat when printing just from tool 2 solo and see if it helps. Prusa has a guide for testing the thermistors using a multi meter as well.
I bought a new thermistor and my problem went away.
RE: Looking for help with a Tool 2 failure
Thanks, I would think if this was the case, it wouldn't fail immediately when changing tools, or allow a nice flow while purging filament. I'll check the guide for testing the thermistor just the same.
