extruder clicking filament not extruding
Had my XL for a few months now and I am getting an issue loading filament in tool 3. It has been picky loading for a bit and well since I have the 5 head I just used another. Now the issue is getting worse. Takes 8-12 tries to load. I have adjust the idlers screws with no change. There is no blockage. Even put in a new nozzle (wanted to use .4 anyway.) The filament is pulled down but does not seem to enter the lower opening to the extruder properly. it is almost as if the gear is too far forward. Any insight would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have load issues as well. I have to cut my filament at a sharp angle before loading it and give it pressure to assist the extruders "loading" phase.
I find this issue is greatly exacerbated by filament that has a harsh curve to it, i.e. old PLA rolls that are nearly empty. Try to straighten out your filament best you can and don't cut the tip of the filament 90°.

Here's a good teardown video for the toolhead:
The toolhead he's disassembling was missing the tube around the idler screw (I'm not 100% certain if this was staged for the video though). But your issue could arise from that. Easy to check: Open the idler clip and try to wobble the idler front-to-back. It should not move in that direction.

Thank you for that video. I always like having detailed repair video/docs. I will definitely check this out as soon as i have use of my right arm. (out of commission for some time currently). Much appreciated.
