Tpu printing issue please help

Hi everyone, Please help — I can’t figure out what’s causing these print errors in my slicer. The filament is Sunlu TPU, brand new out of the box (so it shouldn’t need drying). I’m using a 0.8 mm nozzle, with a layer height between 0.2 and 0.35 mm, and a print speed around 25 mm/s. No matter what I try, I can’t get a clean print without these failures — the issue always appears in one corner.

Any advice or suggestions on what settings I should adjust would be greatly appreciated!

Whilst I suspect you do have a geometry problem in the corner it is being magnified and masked by moisture; never assume new filament is dry.

Dry your filament and try again.  If problems persist first try rotating the print on the bed - if the problem moves with the print it is probably something in the file/settings, if it stays in the same position relative to the printer it may be a cooling issue.

If it seems to be a file issue save your project as a .3mf file

Files > Save Project as

Zip the .3mf and post it here. It will contain both your part and your settings for us to diagnose.

I agree with diem.

Post the STL and I will also give it a test.

What are you auxillary fan settings ?

From the photos it looks like an air vent of some kind, so why TPU ?

I have had good success with carbon impregnated filament for these type of prints. Recommend ZIRO.

Cheers,

Also orientate the part 45 degrees on the bed, it could also be a belt tension issue, if OK

then if it is still an issue, flip the print over on the heater plate, vents look 45 degrees so no different geometry issues.

Cheers

RE:

There's something weird with the kratka2.3mf file that you uploaded, because there're no print settings in it, as if it were a *.stl file. Did you use Prusa Slices to save this project ?

@artur5 is right, you didn't save the project from PrusaSlicer with the settings - but a simple test, slicing with default seam settings, puts a seam in that corner and together with the 48° angle it's probably dragging ...

Try different seam position settings; if none of the presets work you can paint your own seam.

Print Settings > Seam position

- you will need to be in expert mode.

It’s strange — I’ve noticed that the defect always appears on one side where the seam is, and another similar defect shows up parallel to it on the opposite side, even though there’s no seam there.

Try rotating the part 45° on the bed.

Hi,

Looks Like too much retraction.
The squishy Filament needs more time to get the Filament flow right.

Try dissabling retraction
