Still 5-8 week wait for orders??

I'm a preorder guy who decided to wait when my time came. Same wait time 8 months later, lol.

I really wanted another prusa, but it seems they're out over their skis. Forces me to be looking at other options.

Seems like they are taking their time. Double checking everything. The fully assembled is a faster turn around. I am happy they are not rushing them out.

This is a popular printer. Completed mine order July 11 with the enclosure bundle.  Still have a few more weeks before mine ships.

"Seems like they are taking their time"....ya think?!? Lol

The 3D printer industry is not standing still. I've been a loyal Prusa customer for many years, but if I need to wait months for a printer, I'm wait those months to see what else is going to be released. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

And I don't mean that in a vindictive way. It's actually disappointing.

RE:

The prusa xl multi tool head is the most advanced consumer printer I’ve seen to date. I don’t know of anything else that is even close to it that’s in development.

Bambu officially announced no upcoming printers. Instead they’ve been quietly working on improving their current releases. Creality will soon be their main competitor with the k2 line. Neither are anything like Prusa’s line. They can’t match the build quality or service. Fanboys aside both of those companies are well known for their launch issues and poor service.

These early delays aren’t unique to Prusa. The XL has only recently received its promised enclosure. This is new territory for 3d printers.

Here is what we both know for sure. Others will eventually start competing with the xl with multi tool heads on offer.  But they’ll be lacking something important and that’s the ability to later upgrade your printer. Prusa finds ways to keep their machines current.

To be honest I was really hoping the open source communities would have came up with something similar by now. But they haven’t. And really.. my voron continues to need major maintenance. Last time all I did was hit update. It completely changed the os functionality. I now had 100s of errors in my code. I love my voron but it’s definitely more of a hobby than an end user printer.

I appreciate that perspective. I just saw that Creality K2 and sure it's a slick package, but the multimaterial/color solution is just lazy and I can't get on board with all the waste. It's basically a copy of the Bambu IMO.

There's no doubt Prusa has the best multimaterial/color solution, and I print mostly in colors. I've been looking hard for current and upcoming releases and there's really no close second I could find. I guess I'm just going to cave in and place an order.
