Prusa XL Build Thread - Two Head Version

I carried the box out to the workshop and opened it.  Darn, that thing is heavy.

The first line in the instructions: warning box is heavy - too late.  Already carried it out there.

I am really surprised at how much of this printer comes assembled.  It is pretty amazing and a testament to why this printer cost over $2000..

I am going to take a picture.  I forgot last night, but the XL Print bed is 16 small heater PCBs.  The wiring is impressive.  They are wired together with Molex connectors into a junction box.  Very professionally done.

Gathering the parts for the first step:  It is to install the uprights.  It used torx screws and had a 3d printed torx guage.

Uprights installed:

First step done with 8 screws.  Pretty sturdy for only 8 screws.

The bottom of the print bed is very impressive. Each section of the 16 Portions of the print bed has its own wiring harness with a Molex connector.  Each wiring harness comes back to the junction box on the bottom of the print bed. The heat bed has to set of wires that come from the power supplies.
