Print Queue: Reassign filaments before print
Hi everyone,
I’ve noticed that when I start a print manually, the printer shows a filament assignment screen where I can map slots (e.g., Filament #5 → Hotend #2) before printing begins. That’s great!
But when I have multiple prints queued (via PrusaSlicer), and I click “Set Ready” to start the next job, the filament assignment screen doesn’t appear — it just starts printing with whatever filament is currently loaded in each head.
This makes it hard to reassign filaments without physically swapping them — which defeats the purpose of having multiple slots for quick changes.
Is there a way to force the filament assignment dialog to pop up after clicking “Set Ready” but before the print actually starts? Or is this a limitation of the firmware/queue system?
I’d love to be able to reassign Filament #3 → Head #1, for example, without having to unload/reload physically — just to preserve my filament setup and save time between jobs.
Thanks for any tips or workarounds!
Best regards,
Floh
