Can we merge the single and multi head groups?
Before we start to get a lot of posts here in the multi, I’d ask the mods to think about merging them back. Unless there is going to be a significant difference between the operation and use, I don’t see the use in doubling the forums.
I think there are already too many places to put questions, frankly, there should be just one Prusaslicer and other software threads for all the models- but that is for another day. Maybe have under the XL a sub grouping specific for the Multi.
By splitting up the single from the multi, you guys are making me nervous that there will be a lot of differences and potential issues between the two. I think consolidating all the XL stuff in one grouping would help to better support people. 🤔

Well spoken! Makes a lot of sense, in particular the idea of a Multi-specific subforum under XL.
If it's so easy to create new forums, what makes us wait forever for a subforum for printables.com related issues under Software?

This was discussed, and you basically already answered your own question 🙂 "Unless there is going to be a significant difference between the operation and use," It is going to be different with the operation / handling / maintenance and everything else between the XL and XL multi tool head (even add in the 2 and 5 tool head versions).
Unfortunately as well, even if I was to combine the 2 now, (or even when it was first decided) it would be the reverse case of people asking to separate the 2.
While both sections for the XL and Multi Tool have similar sub sections, the machines are technically different and need their own separate sections.

That’s OK. I’ll just use Reddit.

I hope that's just an unfortunate way of framing it as I currently have a single-toolhead XL and plan on upgrading to 5 toolheads later and didn't realize I was getting a totally different machine...
Given that this is a user-to-user support forum and actual users, not Prusa staff, do all the work and answer 99% of questions, I wish their view on what makes that "job" easier was given more consideration...

RE: Can we merge the single and multi head groups?
The tool head and dock look slightly different, so I imagine you’d have to swap parts out when going from 1 to 2+ tool heads however that’s madness. The 1 tool head version should use the same parts. Perhaps the head changing parts were not finalised at the time and they shipped the single tool to soon… maybe at some point they will realign them.
RE: Can we merge the single and multi head groups?
I'll let you know when I get my hands on my assembled 5extruder xl lol According to the shipping table it was supposed to begin shipping this week... I won't know if I'm for the separation of the forums until I've had a chance to actually mess with an XL.
RE: Can we merge the single and multi head groups?
I’ve been working with a dual head for about a week and have had a few challenges and initially was confused why there were two sections here like the OP. After digging into some issues of my own, contacting support, chatting on Discord, and reading the two different forums here… I kinda get it. There is a whole different set of problems that come into play when the tool changer gets involved and I was confused when talking to single tool users about a particular issue I had which turns out to only be applicable to multi head units.
I still wound up in the wrong spot asking about it but that was a me thing and it would have been less confusing for all parties had I kept it in the multi tool sections.
