Access to the idler screws is not easy - why is the back cover of the Nextruder on the way? Alternative part?
Hello,
The access to the idler screws is really uneasy on the XL's Nextruder. I always unscrew the back cover of the extruder to modify their setting, otherwise it's super-difficult to turn them.
Has anyone created an alternative part? Or is the CAD file of the original part available somewhere so that I could create one myself?

Bingo! First I had to find the name of the part: « Dwarf cover door » (I beg your pardon?).
And here’s the suitable mod!

And there’s even a second one!

thanks for this info, I just printed of that second alternative. Anxious to try this. I print with tpu often and I always feel like I'd like to make some adjustments to the idler screws but it's such a pain.

Interesting, I print 95A TPU all the time and never adjust the screws. It prints fine.

I tend to do softer, 92A, 85A(Ninjaflex) and even some 75A(Chinchilla). I'm getting back into doing this after quite sometime and the profile I had for ninjaflex is under extruding a bit. I'm slowly notching up extrusion multiplier and it's getting better again. This is a big reason I hate printing with tpu but the wife always wants me to print stuff in it.

I don't know if I'm missing a bolt but I just swing the little cover up and out of the way - I can see why this would be impossible with the tool parked, but I generally bypass everything to print TPU anyway, so it doesn't seem like a big deal to pick the tool up. Very soft TPU does not print well at all on the XL, but 95A needs basically no modifications whatsoever.
