What kind of XL do you have? 2 or 5 toolheads?

I’ve a 2 TH. I’m still debating if I upgrade or not. Currently got a few bits I’m printing so it’ll be after those are done if I do.

How long have you been testing version 6.4.1?

I’ve not tried 6.4.1 at all after hearing all the issues and why I was asking if anyone had upgraded without any issues (usually you don’t hear from those that don’t have issues much).
RE: 6.4.1 Stable firmware for Prusa XL
Can confirm.

Hello,
Version 6.4.1 has been in testing for an hour, so far so good. I'll provide feedback after further testing.

Even though I said I wouldn’t test the new “stable” firmware 6.4.1. right away, I went ahead and gave it a try.
The reason I tried it was because the print bed was over-pressing only during homing. I performed a hard reset and set everything up again with version 6.2.6. After that, it didn’t get any better. The update to 6.4.1 went smoothly without errors
What I noticed that’s better compared to 6.2.6:
- When the toolhead is parked after printing and a new print is started, the motors no longer make a loud clunking noise when they begin homing the X and Y axes or when the stepper motors are activated.
- The pressure of the print bed against the nozzle when cold is the same as with the old firmware 6.2.6—unless it has been preheated, in which case it’s almost gone
- When calibrating the docking stations, the toolheads move in and out faster
- Homing the axes is smoother and more reliable
- Homing the Z-axis is now quieter as

Re,
Same observation regarding the noise, it's perfect. It's smooth and there are no crashes.

Agreed, it seems quieter than ever. 5 Tool heads here.

I forgot to mention that. I have two toolheads. The fan test during calibration also came back fine.Do you also experience the print bed pressing too hard against the nozzle during homing? When I perform homing while the bed and nozzle are cold, the bed presses harder against the nozzle—I think about three times as hard.If I preheat the nozzle and bed, turn them off, and let the homing run again once they’re preheated, it presses against the nozzle one more time but much more gently.

Yes, same observation, the pressure is a little stronger, by reflex I immediately checked if the PEI sheet was marked, no traces.

Phew, that's a relief. I was starting to think I had two faulty heat sink components or that my switch to a horizontal filament feed had something to do with it.

Hello,
Over 17 hours of printing and no problems to report.
Wait and see.

RE: 6.4.1 Stable firmware for Prusa XL
Just updated.
Update went smooth.
After the update the printer booted back up and looked like it was ready to do.
I manually went into the calibration menu, ran the fan speed test and the phase setting options.
Both completed ok.
Currently printing, noticed that it's now got a new probing pattern (circles rather than in a line), but otherwise nothing to report..

This is a well-known issue. Unfortunately, I can't find the related ticket on GitHub.
I think this was about the nozzle heater, which returns implausible values when measured via the load cell. That's why it keeps scanning over and over again. As it does so, it rotates in a spiral pattern from the inside out.
In my case, the nozzle is preheated but off. Measuring the bed is slower compared to version 6.2.6, but it runs smoothly for me.
