(Added this to another XL-fan-prob thread) For others who find this post: I had the same issue (after doing a hotend swap), I attempted the fan test calibration to make sure I didn't mess anything up and the test started failing (yet both fans running/working). Rather than trying to dissemble anything (again), I took a small portable vacuum and had it running/sucking close to the exhaust port of the failing fan. Ran the check with the vacuum running and it passed the test. ***Disclaimers: some types of fans when ran 'externally' will produce voltage, which might or might not damage any connected circuitry. Attempt this at your own risk. I minimized the chances by not having the vacuum directly coupled to the exhaust shroud and I only started the vacuum after the fan was running (to assist it getting to whatever speed the test wanted).

When I did the fan test, as you can see I got an error, as you can see in the photo.

I have solved the problem in a much simpler way. Look at the fan on the right (the one that fails) and possibly some dust has accumulated. Therefore, it does not reach the RPM of the test.

In my case, I have an air compressor, I put a nozzle on it to clean dust and clean the fan using pressurized air. (If you don't have a compressor, you can buy a can of compressed air at computer stores to clean computer components).

So, after cleaning the fan on the left mainly (and the one on the right). When the test was repeated again, the test was passed. 😎
