Prusa XL 2 Head Semi assembled issue at Step 5 Installing the Toolchanger
Hello
i received my Xl this week and (because i build several printers already ) so far all went fine but i have a kind of blocker
At Step 5 https://help.prusa3d.com/guide/5-extruder-accessories-assembly_523539
i have the verry strong suspicion that in the semi assembled the purse team mounted the mount plate where the 4 belt are located. 180 degrees wrong.
whatever i try i can not mount the smaller "Tool Changer Lower Lock" where it belongs in the lower part.
and the "Tool Changer Upper Lock" bigger part
but i can mount it in reverse order lower at upper and upper at lower.
So can anyone provide me with an hint or closeup fotos how the base plate should look like. !!
because if my suspicion is right i need to uninstall the plate turn it 180 degrees and retight it especially the belt.
or it is an error in the manual or it doesn't matter ...
any hint welcome
thx thomas

I haven't received my XL yet, so I can't verify for sure. But looking at yours and Prusa's photos, it appears that you are correct about the mounting plate on the X-carriage is upside down. Note the center hole on the top side of the mounting plate.

Hi David
i did fix it by now
so Prosa should improve on Quality control ... i lost more than two hours because of that and to get the belts back in form i would love have an hoot which tighten force is needed for the belt ...

Dang man that sucks. Glad you were able the turn it around!

I had this problem as well. The toolhead dock (I think that's what it called) should fit flush into the extrusion but even after tightening the bolt it was sitting proud. Shining a flashlight from the side exposed the gap clearly. It's an extremely tight fit and the leverage on the allen key by itself isn't enough to seat the dock properly.
What resolved it for me was tilting the dock up slightly - only pressing the metal part of the dock, not the printed parts - and tightening the bolt a fraction. Then tilting the dock down slightly and tightening the bolt another fraction. And repeating until it was fully seated.
