Multi Color Print failures

Prusa XL Dual tool printer running the latest 2.7 slicer and 5.1 firmware, I still can not get a successful print. The stringing has gone away since the upgraded firmware, and the addition of the nozzle wipers. But I still can not get a print to come out with two colors. Can anyone share what they have done that works??

Fail how?  First layer not sticking? Inter layer adhesion?

Filament? Printing surface?

I’ve had good luck with up to 5 filament printers with hundreds of tool changes.  PLA on smooth sheet with no supports, no wipe tower are very conducive set ups.  PETG, ASA, PC, and flex with supports are on the agenda for this weekend.

The failure part is when it prints with two colors, I can use the the one tool head flawlessly but is when it prints in two colors. And what exactly does this mean:" no wipe tower are very conducive set ups"?

Secondly are you running and mods to the gcode? Or just firmware 5,1 and prusaslicer 2.7

RE: Multi Color Print failures

I think PLA prints the best for multimaterial- less oozing, low warping.  I have the most recent Prusaslicer and firmware.  I think the only change I did was not selecting a purge tower.  I did have some successful prints with purge towers, but to me, they are just a risk of more things to go wrong.
