RE: XL Enclosure fan
I know this post has been dormant for a while, but I just wanted to jump into this post and say thanks to everyone for documenting this!! I just finished installing a Sumo enclosure on the XL, and I wanted to have chamber filtration that was controlled by the printer. Thanks to everything documented here, I was able to get the 24V Noctua fan connected directly to the motherboard's Fan1 connection and functioning as the enclosure vent fan.
Hi! Which Noctua fan did you try? I bought the NF-F12 24V PWM fan but the plug is different 😭 It has a Molex 4-way 1,25 pitch male and the board accepts the clik-mate 1,5 pitch version...
I know it's been a while since you asked this question, but for the sake of documentation I'd like to answer anyway. The Noctua fan will have a standard PC connection on it out of the box, and the Prusa XL uses one of the Molex Clickmate connectors. The link provided by @ssmith worked perfectly for me, and it has enough excess length that you could easily cut it in half and add a connector on the end to splice the wires together between the two connectors.
I used JST SM connectors from Amazon to get a clean wire-to-wire connection, and used the zip-tie mounts on the XL's chassis to run the cables along the standard wire paths and get the connector out to the side of the machine so that it can be easily disconnected if you want to remove the top of the enclosure.
