XL USB C Camera from the CORE

Will the USB C port be enabled like the Prusa Core and USB C cameras be supported.. or you provide an official solution?

RE: XL USB C Camera from the CORE

read this for more details: Original Prusa Core One Announcement

"Introducing Buddy3D Camera

With the Prusa CORE One, we’re also introducing a new optional camera that will be published under our new Buddy3D brand. Buddy3D will encompass all sorts of 3D printer accessories made by external vendors, but fully under our supervision and control. This is the same case with the camera. It will be available as a small module to be placed inside the chamber of the CORE One and connected via a USB-C cable to the mainboard. The firmware for the camera was made under our strict supervision, so we can guarantee 100% security.

The camera is scheduled to be ready in the same timeframe as the Prusa CORE One, so stay tuned – we will give you the option to edit your order and add the camera in case you order the printer before the camera becomes available. The same camera, although in a different body, will also be available for the MK4S and XL. Please note that the camera requires an active Wi-Fi connection and it is fully integrated with Prusa Connect and Prusa App."

I have not checked personally - is there a USBC output on the MK4S that could power this directly or are we going to need a seperate power source?

Is there a 5V, USB-A or USB-C output available on XL to power the camera ? Or do I need to have an external charger plugged into the wall ?

RE: XL USB C Camera from the CORE

The XL only provides the power vis the USB port on the front of the LCD I believe, and can be split out (check the vampire mod on Printables). The rear USB-C does not provide power. However there are mods you can do to add a powered port on the back (again search on Printables). There is no official solution yet other than to use your own wall plug.

I note the Core camera has a smaller case.. a much better design than the case provided for the Mk4s and XL camera.. though perhaps it doesn't allow for rotation once that feature is made available. I wonder if Prusa will be uploading a more streamlined case design that we can print out ourselves and instructions to swap over to it at some point ?
