Woot!

New tank, 28 hours and not the slightest sign of a leak!  I'm gonna dump the water out, get some resin in this baby, and give it a shot!

Thanks for taking the time to give it a good test and let us know the result. Glad to see they got that issue sorted out.

First Print

How did your first print turn out?

And what is your first impression of the SL1S and CW1S?

Thanks!

Other Thread

I actually stared a whole thread instead of clogging up this one with my impressions, but generally it's been pretty darn positive!  I've had a few failed prints, right now I'm at about 60% failed attempts, virtually all due to failure to bond to the platform, but I'm working my way through that.  It seems to need to be calibrated a LOT.  I have had zero failures on prints performed *directly* after a calibration.  Get more than one or two prints away, and success seems much less likely.  Also, it does *not* like the rapid tilts when you're printing a very wide area of material.  I've noticed that after the first ten layers or so (which are using a slower motion), it goes to the high-speed tilt, and I start getting a banging, gear-slipping type noise until it's done with the pad or base layer, then it goes back to near silent operation.  The first time it did that, it damaged the FEP.

At this point, I'm not entirely sure how much is the printer, and how much is my inexperience with SLA printing generally.  Overall, I'm impressed.  The speed is quite impressive, and the print quality looks GREAT when they bond to the bed!

After you brought this to my attention, I actually saw your other thread now. Thanks for sharing your first experience!

Now I'm waiting for the promised delivery table regarding the order date from Prusa and hope that I really receive my bundle in early August.

Delivery reliability

And besides on-time delivery, the SL1S should also work well and reliably.

I experienced a real disaster with my Zortrax M300 Dual. First, the delivery date was constantly postponed (for months!), although the printer had long been on the market. And then he shall do constantly only problems, prints unreliably, several parts had to be replaced and the entire printer also already sent in. All this with a "professional" printer for about 5000 Euro!

In addition, Zortrax is enormously arrogant.

All this has now brought me to actually give Prusa with the interesting SL1S a chance and not to buy the Zortrax Inkspire.

So far I am not satisfied with the delivery reliability of Prusa. My printer should be shipped at the end of June/beginning of July, according to the information when I ordered. As I found out in the meantime, this is standard at Prusa, which shall not turn me into a Prusa enthusiast.

I really hope the printing experience with the SL1S changes my mind again.

I also found Zortrax rather arrogant, at least the principals in the company seemed so.  The lower level on-line folks were always courteous and seemed to try and be helpful.  This was with the original M200, which still works, but is no longer used in favor of a Mk3s.

I wonder how their Inkspire resin printer fares with owners - it's in same ballpark, pricewise, as the SL1S.

Deilvery Table

@Jakub Dolezal

As expected, the Shipping Information page was updated today. Unfortunately, the delivery table regarding the order date is missing. This would have been enormously helpful.

Can this be added in a short period of time?

The LCD (with calibrator) and the print platform are still missing for the spare parts. When will these be available for order?

@jakub-dolezal-2

Thanks for the update!

Can we expect continuous shipment on daily basis?

Could we have a delivery table or forecast according to the order week? So which order week will be shipped in which week? Kind of like the MINI+ ?

And what about the accessories? For example, when will the activated carbon filter and spare screen, stainless steel tank and lid (CWS1) be available for order?

I have otherwise printers from Zortrax and am very suspicious about the delivery times due to this experience.

Thank you very much! I am already very excited about the SL1S Speed and CW1S and hope the decision against the Inkspire from Zortrax was right.

Hi Mibauer,

to your questions:

- Yes, we will ship SL1S/CW1S continuously. We have a stock of parts, so there shouldn't be any delay.

- Regarding the delivery table, I will ask colleagues to create one.

- Spare parts are partly on the eshop, the rest will be added in the upcoming days. I have approved the SL1S/CW1S parts last week.

Looking forward to seeing your first print results. Our external testers are already pushing the limits 🙂

Zortrax

I have not yet found a direct comparison between the Zortrax Inkspire and the Prusa SL1(s).

It seems that the Inkspire is more likely to be compared to cheap printers like the Elegoo Mars. As a reference of a "professional" expensive printer.

The fact is that the Inkspire has been sold at a discount for quite some time. Perhaps there will be an upgrade soon, although Zortrax of course denied this when I asked.

However, based on my recent experience with Zortrax, I would refrain from buying a printer there anyway. Currently, Zortrax gives me the feeling that it's my own fault for wasting 5000 € on a bad printer.

Arrogant, unwilling to learn and unwilling to really help the customer, that's a good description of Zortrax. If the M200 Plus wasn't so damn good, I wouldn't have bought another Zortrax.

So far enough from Zortrax, now I would like to get news again about the delivery of the SL1S and CW1S.

Now I am curious how Prusa really is.

fep film cw1s

Can you share a picture of the CW1 rotating platform? Apparently there is a new printed part for the stage that allows attachment of a FEP film so any uncured resin doesn't drip down onto the uv lights under. I am just wanting to see how they attached this film. Thanks in advance!

SL1->SL1S upgrade

Looks like Prusa has just started the (DHL) shipping process on my SL1->SL1S upgrade so it should show up here in the next in a week or so.

Printing Platform changed?

Hello all,

is anyone able to confirm to me that the holder and the printing platform has not changed from the SL1 to the SL1s?

I want to know in advance if, for example, the following holder is still compatible with the SL1s.

Printing Platform Holder

As it looks at the moment I still have to wait a while for my SL1s....

Thank you very much!

Shipping - Waiting thread

Hey guys,

we should make this a waiting thread to compare our shipping dates. Thus we can estimate when someone can expect to receive his printer.

I bought my SL1S/CW1S bundle on 10th July and no sign of it being shipped out yet. I will keep you updated.
