SL1S Print Question - many small parts
Hello All,
I currently have a Mk3S and we print these small clips for our business. I am considering buying a SL1S for the job (faster, better resolution) however I have a couple questions for the SL1S community:
1: In PRUSA Slicer, printing 14 clips uses 15ml of resin. Per the instructions the tank (200ml) has to be dumped between prints. So, for cost purposes, I should assume 200ml of resin for 14 clips?
2: In order to use up the tank’s resin, is it possible to have PRUSA Slicer add multiple layers of the objects putting supports between them so I can print more than 14 in a given print run? If not, has anyone had success generating the supports necessary in software (like Fusion 360) between layers?
Thanks in advance for your thoughts 🙂

RE: SL1S Print Question - many small parts
Hi Rotto,
when I complete a print, I save the excess resin into a spare light proof container, and next time I use that colour I empty the recovered resin into the vat and top it up with fresh resin.
but bear in mind, you don't have to fill to 200mm for every print. if it's a small print, you can add less resin...
if I am doing another print immediately, I simply run my scraper through the resin, on the FEP, to see if there are any bits of cured resin, in the vat, if all is good, I just run another print
