Why is there a giant octopus on my Prusa MK3.5 screen?
I just upgrade my Prusa MK3s to an MK3.5, which includes a new controller board ("xBuddy") and a new color LCD display. The old black/white display on my MK3s was crammed with useful info. But for some reason, when I print on the new one, this is what I see:
Why is there an Octoprint octopus on the top half of the screen, and how do I get rid of it? The only useful information is very tiny line on the bottom with temperatures. I don't even see percentage completion any more.

Ugh, it turns out that this is a known bug: https://github.com/prusa3d/Prusa-Firmware-Buddy/issues/3846
Of course, Prusa doesn't seem to be interested in actually fixing it. "Patches are welcome". What a BS response.

Hello, I do not like this fishy thing either.
Hope they will fix this with usefull infos like the old one had.
100% agree - thanks for the post!

I agree absolutely! The octopus is a nice eye candy (if you use octoprint).
But it’s way to big and ther should instead be more detailed information like the mk3s+ hat when printing remotely.
AND: not each remote printing is via octoprint. What if you use repetier server like me? They should a neutral „USB“ icon much smaller or octopus for octoprint and other specific icons for different remote server like repetier server.
what I would like to see on screen, when printing remotely:
- a SMALL network, usb or whatever remote icon
- progress bar
- progress in%
- eta and ete time predictions
- list of chosen building plate identifier (MD38 f.i.)
- may be a „time to next filament change“ would be very nice!
I like the mk4 much better than the mk3 s+. It is a massive improvement but it could even become better especially in the remote printing screen1!!

they won't change this, will they ?
