RE: MK3.5 Upgrade Kit

I would just get the full features with the 3.9 or 4 upgrade.

My only thought in getting the 3.5 was not the display, but changing a 8 bit controller for a 32 bit controller with some room to grow.

CW,

I really like the way my Mosquito hotend works! It is very trouble free and make’s great parts. I have a Diamond nozzle in it. I see Prusa beginning to slow down on firmware updates on that poor overworked 8 bit board. If I get a 32 bit board in my MK3 then it will match my Mini. It builds much better parts than my Mini just due to the different type of construction of the two models. I grew up with the machine tool world going from paper tape to solid state digital and have seen many pieces of great older equipment really shine with the update from NC to CNC.

I understand that.  The MK4 is so trouble free if getting the first layer done and it is a great extruder / hotend.  I have three printers with Bondtech extruders and Mosquito, V6, and Dragon hotends.  I am not sure what I am going to do to upgrade them or if I even will.  I was dead set on the 3.5.  Now, I am not sure.

I guess since I have the diamond nozzle and it doesn’t wear and change the Z level I just don’t have to worry about the first layer. The issue with the first layer change is the end of the nozzle wearing off and changing the distance to the plate. And as you know, a couple microns can have a big effect on that first layer.

I guess it also doesn't hurt that you can swap build sheets like a madman with the MK 3.9/MK4 and not worry about changes to the Z height there either...

RE: MK3.5 Upgrade Kit

Is it possible to upgrade from the MK3 (not MK3S) to the MK3.5 or do I need to first upgrade to MK3S?
