prints are shifting, I think because of wipe tower blobs

Hi,

I've had 3 prints that have shifted mid-print. I suspect it is because the wipe tower is getting some big blobs on it that may be colliding with the nozzle, I've heard the nozzle hit it. On the wipe tower image below, on the lower right, it shows how the wipe tower bridges are raised. I live in the desert and the humidity hasn't been above 20% lately, so I doubt the PLA needs to be dried, but I suppose it's possible. When I dried it last week it weighed 1 gram less after drying 12 hours.

The belts are tuned.

I've set the Max Bridging Distance to 2mm.

I set Tool change G-code to:

G1 Z{min(layer_z+15,max_print_height)} F3000 ; Lift Z by 15mm to avoid formation of blob on tower.

What do I need to change so that the wipe tower isn't so rough? Or is it something else entirely?

Thanks,

Gene

RE: prints are shifting, I think because of wipe tower blobs

Hi!
I'm dealing with the exact same issue right now.
My MK4S prints flawlessly on its own, but with the recently assembled MMU3, I'm getting X-axis layer shifts.
Did you manage to figure out a definitive solution?
Thank you
