Legacy/vanila print with MMU3

Can i still print in "legacy mode", after i've attached MMU3 to MK3S+?

I mean, not using mmu3, but printing streight from one spool, just like "before" attaching it?

I dont see edit button, so i'll write it another way:

If i set "mmu [off]", without disassembling mmu3, and i connect PTFE tube from Enclosure, and mount one, single spool, will everything work as intended?

In the process of mounting MMU we modify extruder (sensor, chimney...), will loading/priting/unloading work if i switch MMU to OFF?

You probably don't need to do all that if you want to keep the MMU3 - you can just choose to cut your model with single mode enabled in the slicer. When it comes time to print your model you'll be asked to select a filament in the interface.

Does this option not work for you ?

Prusa is MK4S w/ MMU3 (formerly MK4 / MMU3, MK3S+/MMU2), 2 Prusa MINI+, Octoprint. PETG, PVB, (some) PLA.

Yes and no. If you turn off the MMU3 via the printer, than the printer will run as a standard MK3s, and that is what you have to select in PrusaSlicer as printer setting. If you slice with a MMU3Single profile, the printer will report an error. You can then use the printer with the turned off MMU3 like a legacy printer with a direct feed of the filament into the extruder. This is the yes.

The no is, that AutoLoad will not function as in the not modified extruder, as the filament sensor detects the filament (in the MMU3-modified version) the moment it enters the extruder guides (in the non modified MK3S this will happen slightly earlier, above the guides). And with the tension spring adequately tightened you will not be able to push the guides apart just with a piece of filament. Workaround is to heat the extruder to the desired temperature, then insert the filament through the hole on top of the extruder and push in that little extension lever from the extruder guide door on the right side, so the filament sensor will switch to state "1". Then, the extruder / filament guides will start to turn and pull in the filament, with a normal load.

Hope, this helps.

Hi! Same question here but to make it more simple - if I leave MMU3 on, I'll then remove the bowden tube from extruder, load it directly and use non-MMU3 sliced MK3s+ Gcode, will it run? Did anyone try to do that? Why am I asking - TPU is not a big friend with MMU and I'm just looking around for the easiest possible way to print it. Thanks for any answer!
