MMU3+MK4S woes
This is my third 3d printer, and the first one I did not pack up and ship back. Kidding aside, great machine when it works... and it works most of the time, when it is a single material project. Multimaterial produced both great prints and seriously flowery curses.
First, pre-loading. About half the time, pre-loader grabs he filament and either misses the hole entirely and grinds the gears, or pushes into the wrong hole and dumps filament directly into enclosure. What really grates me is that once this happens, I am stuck in an endless loop - there is no transparent way to tell the unit to abort loading and try to reposition selector (other than rebooting). I have a suspicion this could be addressed by a single line of code in the firmware.
Second, filament switch mid-print. I pre-load (with much swearing) two filaments, load them - one at a time - to nozzle to make sure everything works. Couple of hours into the print, time for filament change, change fails; again, endless loop of trying to feed it to Finda with no clear way to abort or recover the print or recalibrate MMU3 before trying again. And then, to add insult to injury, I get a message - multiple filament loading failures detected. Really? You mean, I wasn't supposed to notice?
Enough with the rant. I am sure I am not the first to experience that; any practical advice on how to deal with the situation would be greatly appreciated.
