MMU3 not loading PETG
I've been using my MMU3 for quite some time, with only minor issues. But always with PLA.
Now, for the first time, I'm trying to load black PETG, and it won't load. I select preload to MMU for the filament slot I want, and it pulls the filament in, then starts making a clunk-clunk-clunk noise at about 4 clunks per second, and just keeps doing it. Finally, I pull it back out. I've tried retrimming the tip and serious straightening. No luck.
I notice that the PETG is shinier than the black PLA I've been using, and I wonder if there could be something about reflectivity that's a problem.
The other variable is that this PETG is from Creality. I've been printing with Prusament and Hatchbox PLAs.
RE: MMU3 not loading PETG
Did you select the filament type as PETG in Filaments > Load to MMU3 Advanced? Click on the filament number and push the dial, then turn it to select "Load as PETG". After that perform a loading test for this filament. PETG needs a higher nozzle temperature than PLA. This procedure has always worked for me for printing PETG with the MMU3.
RE: MMU3 not loading PETG
I looked for that setting, but can't find it. I'm running firmware 3.14.1-8237. I also should have said before that it's a MK3S+.
In "preload to MMU," I can choose which filament to load, but I can't find a way to choose material. I tried long pushes on the filament number selection and after it's selected.
I did also look in Prusaslicer, searching for "load", but didn't find anything.
RE: MMU3 not loading PETG
I do not know the menus on the MK3S+. Never used my MMU3 with one of those, only with an MK4S. Sorry, can't help you then.
RE: MMU3 not loading PETG
My bad, not mentioning which printer. Thanks for responding!
RE: MMU3 not loading PETG: UPDATE
I was finally able to get it to load, but it took 6 or 8 more tries. Maybe I just have to accept that PETG is more finicky to load than PLA.
