MMU3 Filament Color Profiles
Hi,
I have a Mk4 with a MMU3 installed. I'm relatively new to 3d printing, and I'm having trouble with the extruder color settings and multi-material painting option in PrusaSlicer. I can set colors all I like in different menus, but for whatever reason they don't stay. I don't know what to set where and have that setting remain durable.
Let's say I have something I want to print, and I set up my printer and MMU3 based on some "color family" I've created. I place the colors for Color Family A in their designated extruder slots(e.g. Color A for Extruder 1, B for 2, C for 3, and so on.) How do I reflect which colors are loaded into each extruder in Prusa Slicer? How do I get that setting to reflect what's shown in the multi-material painting (MMP) menu?
Now I want to load Color Family B. I place those colors in their respective places. Is there a setting in Prusa Slicer that allows me to select this group of colors, and have the colors reflected in the settings and MMP menu? It seems like there should be a way, but I'm struggling to accomplish this. Any help is appreciated!
RE: MMU3 Filament Color Profiles
Hi,
the colors you set are saved in the printers profile. So far, there are no profiles for color only.
For myself, I just have some generic colors saved and only when I need the real representation to get a good preview I change it to the model. I also don't use color sets, but individual ones depending on the print. Most times, I have black in slot 1 and white in 2. The rest is added in no particular order.
The only option I see, is to set the colors for your profile and save it as a new printer with your color profile name. The downside is when you modify any other parameter of one printer, it is only active for that one profile and not the other.
In theory, there are dependencies for printers, filaments and print profiles to have one master and some derivatives, but I have no clue on how to create them in the GUI.
Good luck!
