MMU3 "eating" white PLA
Hi all,
I am running my MK4 now for a while and since months now also with a MMU3. I am seeing issues with "dasfilemant PLA" in white, MMU3 is on a regular base "eating" the filament and then the printer is stopping since the MMU3 cannot move forward or retract the filament. I attached a picture where you can see the "eaten" filament.
I do not see this effect with all other colors of the same supplier I am using (black, red, green, silver, gold, it really does not matter). There also is no difference using other slots at the MMU3 or using another white spool, I tried.
Any idea on this or just an explanation for me to get a better understanding?
Thanks,
best
Thorsten
RE: MMU3 "eating" white PLA
Additional information: I right now started a print with multiple color changes white <-> another color. It seems that MMU3 is not the issue but retracting the white filament only, you can hear the extruder cracking. I am guessing that the extruder is not pushing the filament back as required and MMU3 then cannot pull back. In case this is my issue, it stays with a: why with white?
Thanks all for trying to bring light into this!
RE: MMU3 "eating" white PLA
That is so odd. The exact thing happened to me with a very new spool of white PLA (Matter Makers brand). The MMU3 chewed it up at the feeder and generated a FINDA error (since nothing was advancing). I ended up with a bunch of white PLA smooshed into the primary Nextruder gear. I previously had 5 spools of non-white PLA from which I printed many things with no problem other than a very old and likely moist spool of green which was just breaking in places.
