                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yes, I have never had to input the type of filament before this update but I don't think it will get changed as the recent email I have received called, Speed Up Your MMU3 with the New FW⚡ about the new Bondtech INDX that is out this spring will take the place of the MMU,and that utilises 8 different filament colours. So I think that the MMU will become classed as "old tech" and become obsolete with no further firmware updates. (Bondtech INDX - Add 8-Material Printing to Your Prusa CORE One+)</p>]]></content:encoded>

I could be completely misremembering. But I would assume it is for when you kick off a program it can verify the correct type is loaded? You wouldn't get that info though if you use the buttons on the mmu.</p>]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yes, that is a way of doing it but after this firmware update why does it suddenly want to know what type of filament you have loaded? Prior to this update it didn't want or didn't care what type of filament you were loading you just had the option to either load a filament singly or all five together, why do they suddenly want to know what type of filament it is? The type of filament is decided in the slicer programme and not the MMU. </p>]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>For me with the newest firmware update of the mmu3 "Ejecting" a fillament means inserting it further into the ptfe tube, especially if it runs out this is super annoying as it causes unintentional side effects too, like the x/y getting misaligned and z getting corrupted (somehow) so yeah its pretty awkward right now with that, i am thinking downgrading that to the latest stable. </p><p>6.5.3 and the respective mmu3 firmware is NOT stable.</p>]]></content:encoded>

Not having to disable the MMU saves me some hassle</li><li>The VAST majority of multi"material" prints are two colors</li><li>Three colors? Really pushing it. </li><li>(four): I have one design I'm printing repeatedly - a personalized ruler - but tell myself, this is gimmicky, switch to 3</li><li>(five) - have some wiggling room for the unexpected.</li></ul><p>Conclusion:</p><p>MMU usability should focus on two-color use case, and get out of the way for single-color prints. </p><p>Sadly, "MMU usability" generally - and that's my big disappointment with Prusa's marketing language - seems a problem in search of someone solving problems.</p>]]></content:encoded>
