This may be in the latest |Configuration.

I have not needed to make this change whilst I have been using MMU3 with Mk3.9

If I recall correctly, when I changed from MMU3 / Mk3S, to MMU3/ Mk3.9,
I only changed the MMU Data / power cable and the nextruder parts...

The updated Mk3.9/4 MMU Parts came later...

but the mk3.9 was printing OK with the Mk3S MMU setup in the first place

RE:

The MMU3 assembly manual says "The new main plate is 3D printed using MJF technology. It cannot be replicated with the same quality using FDM printing."

But that doesn't mean it can't be replicated 🙂 .  I had a go at modelling it according to the photos in the manual, and I printed it in ABS.

I started with Volker's tweaked version of the original, which is based on his experience with the MMU3 using an unofficial cable to attach it to a MK4.  The other changes I made are only based on eyeballing the image in the assembly manual, plus some guesses about dimensions, so I wouldn't be daft enough to post the STL, but since it's all done in OpenSCAD I can tweak it to match the original once my MMU3 arrives.  And I'd be very surprised if Prusa don't eventually publish their model anyway.

I recall reading that Prusa were considering that the main plate might have to become a consumable part, so that's presumably why they've switched to an MJF printed part.  I would imagine that was a last resort on their part, and that they'd have stuck with an FDM printed part if they could.  So even in ABS I guess it's not going to be as durable as the MJF part, but it would be interesting to see how well it lasts.

Would be OK for me if I have to replace the main-plate every 5000 tool changes. It costs a couple of grams PETG an 1h printing time. Service of the nextruder with the planetary gear is needed anyway.

...and I just noticed another difference that I hadn't modelled 🙄 .  Oh well - fixed now.

Yes, it's not difficult to replace.  But it seems that 5000 changes can be accumulated quite quickly, given that your 'melted cube' model used 1100.

Interested to hear how it goes for you, I wouldn't mind at least having temporary parts until the official ones are in stock.

Unfortunately the new main plate needs also the new idler/swivel parts, since the semi-circular protrusion on the new main plate is designed to fit in the space where the ball holder assembly for the original filament sensor sits.  So I'd say that unless you also have the new idler/swivel parts you'd be better off using Volker's modified main plate for now, since it doesn't require you to remove the original ball holder.

I spotted another difference between the original main plate and the one shown in the MMU3 assembly instructions, so I updated my model.  No point doing any more now until my MMU3 arrives and I can measure the new part properly.
It's not clear to me why the two filament guide posts are shaped differently from the original, since the changes don't seem to affect the function or improve the strength.  Presumably the new MJF part has modified holes similar to Volker's part, but the changes to the shape of the guide posts don't have an obvious reason that I can see.  But it's clear that Prusa spent some time on this part, so I'm sure there will be a reason.

I wonder if MJF printing is just to get going fast and they might have this part injection molded someday? I also wonder if the new parts will be standard in MK4s going forward?

Another update from the Prusa Shipping Information site:
https://help.prusa3d.com/article/shipping-information_2297

Update 2nd April 2024: We sent the first MMU3 units to customers during the last week of March 2024. We are currently working on a shipping table for all current orders. We will update this article with the table by the end of this week.

I ordered it day one, roughly 15-17 min after opening and i'm not in the "first customers". So either those MMU3-s went to youtubers or there's a brutal line ahead of me 🙂

I see the shipping information page now has an April 2nd update saying there will be a table of estimated ship dates by the end of the week.

Was 'day one' July 27th?  Just to add to the fun, my order is dated July 3rd.  That's because my order was originally for an XL, but I switched it to an MMU3 (added the MMU3, removed the XL - kept the original order date) when I changed my mind about the XL.  So I wonder where that puts me in the queue, and I wonder how many other people did the same.
