Happy MMU3 User
I got my MMU3 for the MK4 about two weeks ago and after 36 hours of printing the parts, it is all together and up and running.
I had one assembly error that I fixed (I didn't tighten down the lock screws tightly enough on the pulley assembly)
I just finished my third multicolor print with 365 color changes without a single glitch.
The picture is of a puzzle box I downloaded from printables.com. It was a 26 hour print.
I am a happy camper. The MK4 w/MMU3 is (knock on wood) functioning without a glitch.
RE: Happy MMU3 User
I spent many frustrating hours on the MMU2 and MK3s+. I set it aside and waited for the MMU3. I have an MK4 now and assembled the MMU3 upgrade with the rev 4 parts and B buffer cassettes. It is all working well. YEEHAA. It works as a single machine, not 2 separate machines. The MMU3 has corrected the problems I had with the MMU2. Many changes seem small, like the bigger ID on the festo fittings, but added together it is a huge improvement. I think the nextruder improvements would benefit non MMU MK4 systems. See my MK4/MMU3 notes if you want more details.
RE:
With the MMU3 Prusa played its reputation, the right to error was no longer allowed, so much time lost and wasted filament with the awful MMU2.
As soon as I received the upgrade kit , I mounted it on my MK4 to test it, start with a 5 colors print with 220 filament change, then a second one also 5 colors with 480 filament change both in PETG, and and you know what! NOT A SINGLE ISSUE.
Forgotten the countless failures of the MMU2 that often resulted in a total inoperative device, and then sending the printed object to the trash.
Finally this endless waiting ends up with a device that works perfectly well, the filament tips are perfect, the purge blocks are lighter, there is apparently less waste.
