MMU3 FW update
Assembled new MMU3 on MK4, updated printer FW with no problem, but cannot get the MMU to update. I dont know if I have to download FW to special folder or if I can keep it in downloads. I connected MMU to PC with the USB shipped with the kit, downloaded FW 6.0.0 (3.0.3) on PC and enabled MMU preset in the printer settings. Then "MMU needs FW update" shows up on the printer screen. I plug the MMU to pc and click restart (on the priner), but every time I do so, it restarts and shows the message again.
RE: MMU3 FW update
Have you tried resetting the Mmu?

RE: MMU3 FW update
I tried resseting it on the printer screen. This might help, thank you.
RE: MMU3 FW update
Unfortunately, it did the same restart as when I did on the priner screen.
So no, it didint help. But thank you for your effort.
RE: MMU3 FW update
It sounds like you are trying to update the MMU3 through the printer. The MMU3 must be updated through Prusa Slicer.
RE: MMU3 FW update
Is the Mmu enabled on the printer LCD screen?

I found this confusing. When it pops up that the MMU needs an update on the printer, do not click restart on the printer. Just plug the USB cable in, fire up PrusaSlicer, and upload the MMU update file to the MMU. Only after the file is uploaded successfully to the MMU3 through PrusaSlicer should you restart the printer.
The restart option has nothing to do with the update process itself, except that you need to restart the printer after the MMU is updated.
RE: MMU3 FW update
Having the same issue,
All connections/ hardware look good. MMU Unit: ON. Printer recognizes the MMU and asks for FW update. In PrusaSlicer the firmware flasher says the serial port is "autodetected" once the hex file is located. After attempting to flash, the message in the slicer says that flashing failed bc the "(bootloader) device could not be found"
Trying to work with support to resolve but so far have only been sending pics of hardware and screens with no development on how to resolve. It's been weeks. Will update if any resolution is made to get things up and running.
RE: MMU3 FW update
I had that issue... I think the USB ports on some of the boards are a bit wonky. I resolved mine by holding the cord in at a slight angle. I tried 4 different cords and 2 different computers. Support told me they'd only replace the board if I send them a video showing 3 different cords with the same issue. Hopefully the next firmware won't require use of the USB port to flash.
RE: MMU3 FW update
Hmm ok I'll keep trying and adjusting the cable. Still haven't heard back from them on what may be causing the issue. Thanks for the tip!
RE: MMU3 FW update
It worked!
Had to try holding the cable at different angles and w/ different pressure but found the magic combination.
Thanks again that was a huge help!
