Having wipe tower obstruction issues causing layer shifts

Printing PETG a d the prints are looking good but the wipe tower is blobbing and stringing, which is causing nozzle obstructions and layer shifts.

Anyone else having this problem? Suggestions?

Thanks!

RE: Having wipe tower obstruction issues causing layer shifts

Hi, I am having the same issues with my wipe tower and it's a mess whilst most of the time the print is ok. I'd like to change the nozzle position when changing filament so its a little higher. I think this would be the nozzle would be hot but not so closer to the tower until the filament change has been completed. No idea how to do that though 🙂

I've improved the situation drastically by experimenting with different filament profiles in Prusaslicer. Different color filament sometimes  requires different temps/fan settings.

For me, increasing the PETG temperature to 240 from the default 230 solved my problems. Some colors did fine with extruder fans off, others needed the fans.

So I would recommend adjusting temps up/down and fans on/off until you find what works.
