Thank you for sharing this! I just finished putting everything back together and it works awesome; so much cleaner. I had issues getting the square nuts into their slots, so I quickly hit them with a small torch and they went right in.

Speaking of those small square nuts, anyone know where to buy new ones? I would pick them up at my local hardware store but I don't know enough about them, if it is possible to get square nuts there at all!

I purchased some off of amazon, however they are substantially thicker. Wherever you find them, make sure you check the thickness if you are using them in Prusa Parts.

Hi Pete, thank you for your question, the hole is present (unchanged) here's a closeup from different angles the hole is low enough that the screw hole misses it.

Might be a little late, but the thickness you're looking for is 2mm. Initially got stuck with the thicker ones too; had to constantly file them down a fair bit if I needed to get any practical use out of them. I got these off Amazon too, and they've worked a treat:
