No Connection between MMU 2.0 and Eindsy

Just build up my MMU2.0, however there is no connection possible between Einsy and MMU2.0.

- flashed MK3 with latest firmware: http://prusa3d.com/downloads/firmware/prusa3d_fw_3_4_0_MK3MMU2.zip#_ga=2.17626105.1572352012.1537626940-519952921.1522783032&_gac=1.125678712.1537897555.Cj0KCQjwuafdBRDmARIsAPpBmVVib5WNbfpJ1ofQnqg4yiGwNfrCjRA0VkeF8usfim9bOHUA6EYrMXUaAgUFEALw_wcB

- Error when flashing MMU 2.0 there is no connection possible between my laptop and the MMU 2.0

Pushing reset is also not helping

- In the MK3 under support -> MMU2 N/A

Am i doing something wrong?

1. Please add your picture as an attachment to the post; it will then be visible to all.

2. You need to flash the MMU with firmware which corresponds to the printer firmware.

Tanks, having problems with one drive to share the picture. There is only 1 type of firmware available, at least I can only find one.

Please don't host your pictures elsewhere, just add them as attachments to your post.

There are two firmwares, one for the printer and one for MMU. MMU firmware is usually called "MM-control-xxxx.hex".

I seem to have the same issue. Board does not get detected by pc (other devices on same cable do). Buttons on MMU 2.0 do nothing. All lights are lit (both red and green across the top)

The board is not dead. the firmware is corrupt in the pi. all you need to do is load the mm hex to the board and all will be good. same thing happened to me.

I have the same problem. How I can load the mm hex to board, when the firmware flasher is not working as in the first picture? Thanks for your advice 🙂

Sorry if this is a "dumb tech support question," but have you connected the MMU to your PC via the USB cable?

The MMU board has its own USB interface; it can't be flashed through the MK3.

Re: No Connection between MMU 2.0 and Eindsy

I tried to do everything like in manual. MK3 powered on, MMU connected via USB micro cable with PC. Then i found the board in firmware flasher as Arduino Leonardo (COM4) and open the hex for MMU2. But flashing faild. Reset button did not help...

I too seem to be having a similar problem. The MMU shows up in Slic3r with '(bootloader)' on the end, and there is only a single light on the board flashing. I will upload some pictures when I am home later.

Re: No Connection between MMU 2.0 and Eindsy

Hi guys,
let just recheck, you've done following:
1) You have a Windows OS (there is a bug in Linux/MacOS, workaround: https://github.com/prusa3d/MM-control-01/blob/master/README.md
2) You are running the latest Slic3r PE 1.41.0
3) MMU2 unit is connected using bundled microUSB cable directly
4) Einsy board isn't connected using a second cable (there is bug for simultaneous USB connections, is fixed in the Slic3r PE 1.41.1-RC)

If all these conditions are met, then I assume the bootloader got corrupted. Please contact our support using email [email protected] and ask for a replacement. In case you are expert in Arduino and Linux ask for a bootloader, but you need flashing equipment.

Where did you get that MMU2 board from? Are you a beta tester, or did you receive it recently?

The board shall certainly not identify itself as Arduino Leonardo. The MMU2 board should report itself with a VID/PID pair, and the product string is shown in device manager (on Windows). The PID and product string differs between the bootloader and application mode.

VID: 0x2c99 → manufacturer string: "Prusa Research (prusa3d.com)"

PID: 0x0003 → product string: "Original Prusa i3 MK3 Multi Material 2.0 upgrade (bootloader)"

PID: 0x0004 → product string: "Original Prusa i3 MK3 Multi Material 2.0 upgrade"

Both my MMU2 boards identify themselves as "Leonardo" in the Arduino UI.

Re: No Connection between MMU 2.0 and Eindsy

Hi,
I have the same problem. MMU2 just arrived, well completed and now has not been found on Slicer PE 1.41.1 (win 7, 64bit + MK3 on + microUSB connected).
I heve chose "prusa3d_fw_MMU2board_1_0_2.hex", Slicer wrote "Autoconnected", all MMU2 leds flashing, but process failed. Reset button doesn't help.

I think the problem is in Windows. Something with COM emulation/drivers etc. Windows (Device manager) sees MMU2 as aBluetooth device. Can the probem be solved by a COM ports manager?

Thx
(Czech language possible)

You may try to list your USB devices with

https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html

How did the process fail?

When you attach your MMU2 to your computer, what will pop up in usbdeview (the tool above)? What will show up in usbdeview after you press the reset?

> I think the problem is in Windows. Something with COM emulation/drivers etc. Windows (Device manager) sees MMU2 as aBluetooth device.

That should be shown by the usbdeview.

> Can the probem be solved by a COM ports manager?

What do you mean with that?

A screenshot is worth thousand words.

It should not be that way. IMHO if "Arduino Leonardo" is shown, that means that you flashed your MMU2 board with Arduino, not with the Prusa3D provided Slic3r's firmware updater, and that you flashed not only the application, but also the bootloader.
