MMUS problems
I assembled the MMU2s - Went through the setup stuff and set all the sensors - checked the sensor menu - sensors working as expected. I selected to load from filament 5, the selector motor went half way accross the lead screw and jammed. Now it doesn't work at all. I select Load filament one to nozzle, MMU feeds filament 1 for about half an hour, then tries to feed filament number 2. Now it only feeds filament number 2 no matter what other number is selected.
Is there a repair service for this unit or should it be tossed away?

Only if you have an insurance 😉
Try to turn the printer off and move the selector by hand all the way up and down. Sounds to me like the blade wasn't mounted correct and is jamming half way through.

Moves just fine - and easily by hand with power off - won't move at all with power on - so the blade cannot be the problem with the selector block not moving.

ok. Next try. Make sure the firmware is up to date on MMU2 and MK3s.
Turn the printer off/on. Wait for the first MMU2 init. Then press right button to force second init procedure. The selector is moving all the way up and down. Then you should be able to select any filament with the right/left buttons. Does this work, too?

NO, The lights will move to the next channel, but the selector block stays at filament 1- it does not respond to the buttons

Not good. That narrows the issue down to the motor, cable and the MMU2 board. You can check the cables and connector of the selector motor. Contact Live Chat Support.
What's the firmware version of the MMU2?

thats exactly what will happen if the knife blade slips out of position and jams the carriage. fix is to remove the 3 screws that hold the selector motor in , try and slide the motor out to the right, if it's stuck slowly turn the shaft by hand to release it from the selector and carefully remove the motor and shaft ( you may need to cut the closest tie wrap) . then slide the 2 guide shafts out to the right and release the selector .

Did that, and without the motor in, and the knife blade in place, the block slides easily from side to side - so - not the blade causing the problem, with the motor in and power off, I can move it side to side also - but with power on, the block will not move - even by hand

With power on it should not move as the stepper is engaged. Unlike the printer you cannot disable the steppers on the MMU.
Try powering it on while the selector stepper is removed and see if you can make it move with the buttons. You might also try connecting to the printer's serial console and send T commands (T0, T1, T2, T3, and T4) to attempt to make the selector motor move.
If the motor doesn't move, then you have a bad board or motor, contact support.
If it does move, then there is something up with the selector assembly.

Tried that - will not respond to the buttons. Reassembled the unit and booted up the machine - the selector block made one trip left to right and back hard to the left and refused to move again. So - the motor is good. Must be the board I guess. Contacted support via chat, they promised to send me a label to send the board back - still waiting for that. I can print via manually moving the block to the right filament hole, but the hot end - now upgraded to the MK3S constantly jams. Sigh - this used to be such a reliable machine.
