MMU2S Festo Fitting popping out
Hi All,
I have a MK3S + MMU2S. Finally have it (mostly) dialed in for the MMU, but now I've come across an additional problem: The Festo Fitting at the MMU side of the Bowden tube has started popping out.
This only occurs when first loading a filament to the nozzle, and when I screw it back in it's fine, but obviously that is not going to work for any model that requires a lot of filament changes. I've also noticed that the threads don't really seem to be catching all that great any more when I screw it back in, to the point that I need to try it a few times til it 'takes' (i.e. Try screwing it in gently, tug gently to see if it just pulls out, wash rinse repeat until it stays in).
Typically I'd try Teflon tape or something, but I don't currently have any, and because of the current restrictions I'm not really able to go out and get some. Any other suggestions as to potential fixes (even short-term ones)?
RE: MMU2S Festo Fitting popping out
Do you have any PC4-M6 passthrough fittings?
I have an STL somewhere for a front plate with an M6 thread I've been using since day 1.

You can print new MMU2 selector... And you can choose modified one to upgrade your MMU:)
Example: Prusa MMU2 Selector with magnet and opened FINDA canal
MK3S + MMU2S (@BMG + MOSQUITO), MINI, ANET A8

That won't fix the OP's issue.

Hmm, If the problem is in FESTO thing, then yes he needs new FESTO...

@vintagepc
Yeah, I've got a few M6 ones from my other printer that I could use. Initially I tried to replace it with one of those, not remembering that the MMU uses a different size.
Thanks for the tip, I'll see if I can look that one up, maybe print one out 🙂

I don't think I ever uploaded it anywhere (too much hassle to write up a description for something that took all of 30 seconds to make)
Here you go:
