Layer change in PrusaSlicer?

How can I change color based on layer? The tutorial says there should be a plus sign on the layer scroll thing, but it simply isn't there. I'm on Windows 10 if that makes any difference. I have mk3 with the upgraded extruder (mk3s?) and MMU2S. Do I need to enable it somewhere or what is going on?

The + button is only visible in single material mode. But if you add color stops in single material mode and change then to mm mode Prusa Slicer will still add the M600 (filament change) commands to the gcode.

Ah so it seems. Thank you. I can't seem to find a way to change the extruder for each filament change. This is probably becouse it's a feature for single material printing?

I'm simply trying to do prints which need filament changes multiple times based on layer. What is the best way to do this? I really don't want to manually change filament on each layer.

I came here to find the answer to that same question. I have a 20 hour print I want to do with 5 layer based color changes. I’m going to put a feature request in to PrusaSlicer for that, but in the meantime I guess I’ll have to take the code from a manual color change print and manually edit it to add the extruder change info in place of the wait for color change.

I ended up doing it with modifiers. Right click object -> add modifier -> Slab. Then change the extruder for the modifier from the panel in the right. This works but it's slow as hell as the coordinates of the slab are from the middle of the object and not from bottom. So you have to do some mathematical magic to get them in the right place. Would be much easier if either A) You could just set the extruder change based on layer or B) The coodinates of the modifier object would be from the bottom of the object and not from the middle.
