Filament loading problem with FW 3_13_1 on MK3S+ with MMU2
FW update works without problem on both printer and MMU.
After restart there is no "load Filament" menu, until I realised that I have to enable MMU in settings.
But now the real problem started:
- in the Menu I selected to load Filament into MMU,
- next I selected Filament 2
- everything looks good (IIDLER and SELECTOR looked positioned correctly and the pulley motor started rotating), I pushed the filament in but somehow it was not transported. I retried same with Filament 3, several different cuttings of the Filament tip and tightening the idler screws. Nothing helped. When pushing the Filament manually through I got an error that the FINDA is not free and I got the option to retry with the same problem as already described.
- after trying multiple times, I downgraded back to 3_12_2 and everything worked fine immediately.
what also looks strange to me:
The downloaded FW ZIP is named "prusa3d_fw_3_13_1_MK3S_3_0_0_MMU2S.zip"
it contains a folder which is named differently "prusa3d_fw_3_13_0_MK3S_3_0_0_MMU2S" (which is different from the ZIP's name for the printer)
in the Folder there are two hex files
prusa3d_fw_MMU3_3_0_0.hex -> why is it named MMU3 is this the correct version for the MMU2?
prusa3d_fw_MK3S_MK3S+_3_13_1_6876.hex -> this seems to be the correct file despite the wrong folder name.
Any advise how I can make version 3_13_1 working on MK3S+ with MMU?

Not surprised to see no response from anyone from Prusa!
I was/am having similar issues. maybe two ties out of ten I could get the filament to load by pushing it in manually to the extruder and it would catch. Was continually rejecting it with various error messages.
I was surprised to see that the FW was still looking for fed to the FSenosr (the old IR sensor on the extruder). It has an MMU fitted! It doesnt need to look for that anymore. Why??
Anyhow, I pulled the old IR sensor out, had a wee fiddle and clean and put it back in. Ran a load to nozzle with no card inserted and let the filament feed out of the PTFE tube and then manually fed a length of filament into the extruder. Make sense? That worked first time. The i put the PTFE tube back in the extruder and ran the load filament. Worked again. Then inserted the card and ran a print using filament 1 and it loaded first time!

The whole forum is full of these posts that previous updates have really destroyed the MMU2. It's been 3 weeks since the latest update and no answers to problems...

Uhhh, wait a minute. Sorry for capturing the thread (if so).
I still have an MMU2 running - and was searching for the "new"
firmware. Well, I did not find any.
Reading this post make me think, there is just one firmware,
that is supposed to work with MMU2.... and S... and MMU3 ?
But it also seems, someting went totally wrong? with the latest firmware?

there are two firmwares,
One for the mk3S and Mk3S+
and one for the MMU2S and MMU3

Thanks to all of for your input.
As the printer is continuously running I had no chance to try the recommendations.
My upgrade kit from MMU2 to MMU3 will arrive soon. I will test your recommendations once I have the upgrade kit. Hope it will work.

After upgrading the MMU2 to MMU3 and installing the correct firmware everything works fine,
The handling of the new buffer is much easier than the handling of the previous one and also loading Filament to MMU ist less error prone than on MMU2 (better guidance of filament, tubes with bigger diameter,...). So far the upgrade seems to be a good investment.
